Mulled wine is a winter drink that reminds many of holiday cheer. This recipe will show you how to make mulled wine with ingredients that are easy to find on our website and at the shop. It's perfect for those cold winter nights when you're huddled up next to the fireplace and want something warm and delicious!
Here's the recipe!
- 2 bottles of dry red wine
- 2 cups orange juice
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 1/2 cup fresh cranberries
- 10 whole cloves
- 4 star anise
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 cup brandy
Preheat the stove to medium-high and place a medium sauce pan over it. Mix in the orange juice and granulated sugar until completely dissolved. Add the red wine, as well as all of the whole spices and fruits, to the pot. If you're using brandy, add it now.
Simmer the mulled wine for 30 minutes on low heat. Taste the Mulled wine now and make any required adjustments to the flavour! If it's too sweet for you, you may add a bit extra sugar or brandy. If you have the time, you can boil the Mulled wine for many hours.
